Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Despite the fact that we can temporarily no longer attend school together in the same building, my students have remained incredibly hard-working and perseverant. They try their best to keep up with weekly assignments, even if all they have in terms of access is their parent's cell phone, which they use in shifts with their siblings.

Having access to technology is only part of the equation, but being able to complete assignments with limited supplies poses a challenge as well.

My Project

With schools being closed this year and students having to submit their work electronically, families have expressed how much their children miss doing things by hand like tracing, circling, cutting, and writing.

To help develop fine motor skills, and ease the amount of screentime on developing eyes while working from home, I'd love to have whiteboards, markers, and colorful workbooks for my students to use while they are away from school.

These materials would complement the instruction we're able to deliver electronically and provide families with limited internet or device access with tools that they can use daily.
