My Project

Do you remember your experience learning a second language? Did it mostly consist of worksheets and grammar lessons? There's a place for grammar and purposeful worksheets to reinforce learning, but it can become monotonous and boring. Learning a second language can be a fun, exciting adventure that my students have the opportunity to experience at a young age.

By donating to our project, you are contributing to the goal for students to experience a strong foundation for multilingual acquisition across all modes of communication including listening, reading, writing, and speaking in another language.

Games provide a fun way to engage in these skills to further students' language journey. Playing games encourages multiple levels of communication that align with the ACTFL guidelines for world language instruction. In addition, playing games in a small group promotes teamwork, collaborative learning, and increased opportunity for social-emotional skills to be practiced successfully.

Many of my students can speak in Spanish, however, they are challenged when they need to read and write in it. Games provide a safe, fun environment to play with the language and learn skills to communicate effectively. Our project encompasses a range of ages and can increase the natural flow of differentiated skills being reinforced engagingly. The games that I have selected for our project will strategically assist in accomplishing a strong foundation for multilingual language acquisition.
