After the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, my students are seeking ways to escape their everyday lives. Diving into a good book is one of their favorite ways to do just that. My third grade class is full of energetic, hardworking, young boys and girls. They come from a wide range of backgrounds. Our school is a fine arts magnet school.
More than one-third of our students come from low-income households.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met. I love letting my students show what they have learned in their own creative ways and seeing each child's strengths shine. They are truly an incredible group and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
My students have always loved Flocabulary videos and activities to add some spice to our learning. Right now, especially while students are learning from home, they need the most engaging videos ever to help cement the skills we are learning in online class.
Flocabulary has amazing, high-quality songs about all content areas as well as engaging activities that correspond to each video.
My students love signing along with the educational songs which help them remember their skills. I can't tell you how many times I leave school with Flocabulary songs stuck in my head!
