Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My special education class consists of students ranging from preschool to 2nd grade. They are all diverse children that have specific needs and interests, all the while sharing an excitement to come to school every day and participate in the engaging lessons I have planned for them! My students all come from challenging socio-economic backgrounds, and I would like to be able to provide them with the necessary equipment and support that they need. Our school is a large elementary school with a very supportive Special Education team, who want to provide students with the resources to achieve the best, both academically and socially! Unfortunately, our resources are limited and we do not always have the funds to provide all materials.

My Project

STEAM! I teach at a STEAM school, and I want to ensure that my students have the technology to keep pace with others at our school. My students will use these materials in a variety of ways. Firstly, my classroom is in dire need of a new projector that can produce a clear large image that my students can see when observing teacher produced materials and that my students can use to express their own ideas to the rest of the class. The projector will be used almost everyday in our classroom and will be very much appreciated.

Coding robots will be a great way for my students to have hands-on experiences with our STEAM curriculum.

Coding robots can be used to teach counting, direction following, critical thinking, and collaboration, which are essential skills for my students.
