Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My elementary school is located in Philadelphia. The school has a very diverse student population with the majority of students been Hispanic and or African American. More then 90% of the student population lives below the poverty level.

Students are excited about STEM education.

Students have been able to do some STEM activities; however, more materials are needed. Students are able to do some coding activities; however, I would like to expand the opportunities and classroom activities that are offered to them.

My Project

I believe that students learn the best when they are engaged in effective instruction. I am requesting an IPEVO document camera and cables. I can create and plan the best lessons for my students, but I am going to need some tools to deliver these lessons.

Any donations given to this project will help me get the tools I need to make learning fun and meaningful for my students.

If I can get a good projector for my class, my students will be able to learn in an effective and engaging way. We will hook up the IPEVO and be able to project anything on the teacher's computer to the regular dry erase board. And then we will get to use the "magic pen" which presses against the dry erase board. It will create digital marks just like the real thing. This will save space which is limited and help the kids see better and interact with the lesson. My students will be able to learn to use the technology and share their work with the rest of their classmates.
