Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diverse learners from all different walks of life that come together in the melting pot of LA with the same goal: to learn! I have students that are on the general education curriculum, alternate curriculum, and some still determining their track. All of my students have various needs stated in individualized learning plans that focus on specific learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, and language barriers.

The disabilities do not hold my students back.

As a support provider, I see hardworking students that may have some difficulties accessing content but have shown progress in various academic areas.

My Project

These materials will allow me to connect with students and families via zoom. We have all been through a lot with this pandemic and the disconnection we are facing is troublesome. My current desktop computer does not have a webcam and I believe that students and families need to see their special education support provider in order to feel supported.

Using this camera, I'll be able to help families develop and implement key aspects of their IEPs all from the safety of our individual space.

We will connect via zoom and come up with plans to make sure our kids are successful, despite the challenges we face during a global pandemic.
