My Students

I am a K-4 educational technology teacher in a rural area of Appalachia, Ohio. A very high percentage of my students come from low economic backgrounds and start their educational journey at a disadvantage. My goal is to challenge my students daily, while improving their abilities, growing their confidence and mastering their goals.

My students are special because they are eager to learn, explore, and try new things, even in the middle of a pandemic.

My goal is to challenge each student who walks through my door with a variety of reading materials on his or her level and interest, while trying to close the educational, social and behavior gap created by the Covid pandemic. Overall, I want my students to feel important, special and loved.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of books on science which will provide my students with a variety of non fiction text to read and learn about real people and real events. My students will be able to check out these resources to read at home (during snow days or quarantines) and complete multiple projects available through Google Classrooms.

Students will participate in lessons which will include projects such as creating a timeline, completing comprehension assessments, creating a book report in Google Slides, writing projects in Google Docs and creating Venn Diagrams in Google Draw.

My goal is always to make learning fun and throughout the years I have witnessed the joy of reading grow in my students when they have access to new reading materials.
