My Students

"Wow, look what I made!" "It works, and I figured it out!" These are the excited responses that I hear from my students when they are engaged in hands-on learning. My students love solving problems and figuring things out, and the circuit kits and magnets provide these opportunities.

Welcome to our classroom!

We have nineteen hard-working mighty girls in our fourth grade classroom with a range of ability levels and backgrounds. Our elementary school is located in a small town in South Carolina. It is my passion to teach my students in the way that they learn best. My students absolutely love science, and they thrive in inquiry-based learning activities. This hands-on learning leads to minds-on learning that sparks creativity and critical thinking. They inspire me every day with their creativity, and I want to foster this as much as possible.

My Project

My little scientists will use these snap circuit kits in collaborative groups and experiment with electricity and magnets. They will be able to build different types of circuits, allowing them to make light bulbs glow, buzzers ring, and fans blow! They will test the properties of magnets in inquiry-based stations. These materials will encourage exploration, curiosity, and wonder. They will learn science content according to standards in a meaningful way while also learning to be problem solvers and critical thinkers. Additionally, students will be given the opportunity to design and construct their own series and parallel circuits, taking them to the highest level of Bloom's Taxonomy of learning. This will require students to analyze different components and arrangements of a circuit. Therefore, students will be learning content along with life skills using these resources.

Your donation to this project will SPARK my students' excitement for learning about science and solving problems!

My students need engaging, high-interest, critical thinking activities in order to learn to the best of their ability. I want my students to be mighty girl engineers who aren't afraid to take risks to be creative and solve problems. These circuit kits and magnets can help them in my classroom and beyond. This is just what we need to ELECTRIFY our learning!
