Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the school year has progressed I am happy and excited to say that I have built a classroom full of love and respect. Where students feel safe to make mistakes because they know their peers will encourage them to work harder. So when one of my female students told me that she needed to ask me something but felt uncomfortable doing it in front of the whole class, I knew it must be something serious. She asked me if I had a pad, because she was on her period and didn't bring enough. At the moment I didn't have any, so I walked her to the nurse to get one.

Girls deserve to feel comfortable and confident all day long as they learn.

That is why I am asking for pads, wet wipes and cute pouches so they can hold these things, without having to carry a purse or book bag into the bathroom. I am also asking for other items like hair brushes because they love their hair and it helps them feel confident even on days when they don't feel it.

With your help I know my girls will be able to stop feeling embarrassed and get back to being their confident selves!
