My Project

The students at our school come from all over the East Valley, overwhelmingly through open enrollment because our school aims high and supports the development of the whole child.

COVID-19 has taken a great toll on our students and families, resulting in increased student anxiety, depression, absenteeism, food insecurity, and increased challenging behaviors.

The items requested through this grant will assist our social worker and general classroom teachers support K-6 students with building social emotional literacy, strengthening communication skills, developing strategies to increase calm and focus, and strengthening a growth mindset to aid in their flexible thinking and learning. The supplies will be used to create sensory bottles for calming and the visuals, games, fidgets, mindfulness activities, and social emotional books will be used to teach coping skills in multiple classrooms across campus to reduce anxiety and challenging behaviors.
