Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Science is an exciting class because so much of it requires hands-on learning. Students learn better by performing experiments and investigations on their own rather than by demonstrations. I stumbled upon a lab that requires a few materials, but I believe it would make a huge impact on student comprehension.

This past year I was able to try out the investigation, but the materials were hard to come by and I relied heavily on borrowing another teacher's materials when they weren't using them.

I believe my students deserve the best education I can provide for them and sometimes that causes us to push things back or skip over them because of time constraints.

Having the materials like the LED lights, batteries, battery holders and alligator clips will ensure that my students can perform the investigation when we need to and not when the materials are free to use. Clipboards will help keep students and myself organized as we conduct our investigations and allow them to work freely around the room.
