Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I will be starting my fourth year teaching at this tremendous school. When I started, the school was transitioning from a traditional middle school to an arts academy. I teach instrumental music. Currently, I teach four bands and two orchestras. We are a public school that is 4th through 8th grade. Students are focused and driven to excel in the arts as well as academics. Students begin their journey at an early age and develop their passion for the arts as they progress through the program.

My Project

My students need concert supplies to help make their end of the year concert amazing! Tuners that attach to their instruments will help students take the stage with confidence and in tune! Percussion supplies such as mallets and shakers are constantly wearing out. New pairs will help obtain a better sound.

New strings and reeds will also help students obtain a professional sound.

AAA batteries are needed for our existing tuners as well as our music stand lights. The art supplies are to aid students in building props for our end of the year concert theme: Televison, Movies, and Broadway.
