My Students

We live in a world full of technological advances. Advances that go far beyond cellphones and gaming systems. I'm ready to take these advances one step further and really challenge my students to fully utilize technology.

My students attend a wildlife conservation based high school in the South Bronx.

The curiosity they have to learn astounds me on a daily basis, they are never short of questions. Each one of our students receive free breakfast and lunch and they all come from extremely different backgrounds.

My Project

My students need 2 Chromebooks to use in class and after school. There are so many ways in which my students will use the requested computers. For starters there are students who will use the computers to help them in completing an independent study. This independent study is done in conjunction with an Ivy League professor who studies chimpanzees. Since some of her time is spent in foreign countries completing research these students will use this computer not only for completing their reports and crunching data but it will also be used for Skype sessions. My students will also use the computers while they are in my classroom after school. They have to utilize a computer to to be able to do many of their homework assignments. Having these in my classroom will provided them with a safe space to complete there assignments where they will also have a teacher to help them if needed.

This donation will bring the use of technology to my classroom.

It will help my students to be successful, some in the completion of their independent study while others while be able to successfully complete their homework assignments.
