Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some students are able to purchase their own laptops and some schools have plenty of laptops. Seeing a student who could do well but doesn't have the resources is a crime. This is why we'd like to purchase these computers.

Our students attend a small inner-city high school in a high-crime area of NYC.

The students are wonderful, respectful, and incredibly optimistic about their futures. They simply need some resources to make their dreams come true. These computers will help greatly in that quest.

My Project

Our students will be able to use these computers in many different ways. Some students who simply do not have enough money to pay for internet in their houses (and/or don't own computers) will have a chance to use a computer; something I think we can all agree everyone should have. Many students will be able to properly prepare for regents exams in the spring, while others will be able to complete college applications. These computers will be used for all sorts of projects, all of which are essential.

You cannot ever judge the influence of a small gift on a student.

The computer that one of my students can use, which will help them with that one project, might spark an interest, or a desire to fill in that college application, that will change their lives forever. This might seem like a small project to fund, but its influence will be enduring. Thank you.
