Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is composed of learning disabled students. We work very hard every day, learning new skills, I teach them writing, reading, social studies and math. It will be great to have computers in the class so that the students can rotate using the computers and learn how to do school research.

My class is composed of special education students, mostly from a Haitian background.

Most of my students are receiving free lunch from the school and spend most of their time at home. They tell me that their parents work very hard and are not able to help them with the homework as they do not speak English. My students are eager to learn and participate in class. I would love to buy the computers for them to learn and practice but I do not have the money. Your help will make a difference in their future.

My Project

My students will use the computers daily doing research, checking facts and vocabulary. My students enjoy learning and reading from different computer programs. However, we do not have any student computers in the class and have minimum computer lab time for the class.

In the present time everything is done via computers and the future will be the same.

My students will benefit from having computer skills and knowledge on computer programs. The skills that they learn as children will transfer to their high school education and employment skills in the future. My project will make a difference because it will help my students learn and be able to ready for their future. Thank you.
