This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are awesome! Despite all they go through, they love to come to school. For many of my students our school is their second family and home. It is their safe space where they can escape the many pressures of adolescence and just be themselves. Unfortunately, right now we don't have that option. While they are home I want to help them feel as if we are still together!

Rather than the easy route of giving up, they choose to come together, to push themselves and to persevere.

They have become dedicated students who continuously push themselves to be better.

100% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch based on their socioeconomic status.

Once you get them excited about a topic or strategy they are totally engaged in what we are doing. I want to give them that spark for all that they do in life!

My Project

During distance learning due to COVID-19, having computer ink will allow me to print learning materials for my adolescent students who are technologically disadvantaged or just do better while physically having the materials in their hands.

Students were suddenly thrust into a learning environment that is totally virtual without the technological knowledge of various platforms.

Printing materials and dropping them off at students homes will allow the students who haven't had progress with online learning a chance to succeed during these unprecedented times. This will also allow them a different way to feel connected and cared for.
