My Students

I teach a group of students who are self-motivated to succeed at high levels. These students push themselves and those around them to be the best that they can be. They are very eager to learn Spanish and continue to take chances in the language in order to get more practice communicating.

It is so much fun teaching these students because they want to be successful.

They do not throw their hands up and quit when the content is difficult. They find ways to learn the new material and to apply it to what they already know.

Our school is a place where students win and achieve greatness in almost every sport and extra-curricular activity. The students have taken these same standards from their athletic and arts programs and applied them to the classroom. These are some of the best students I've taught across the world.

My Project

I am requesting four distinct items for the classroom. I am a world language teacher, and we do a lot of listening on the Chromebooks in class. Most students are able to provide their own headphones. However, I have students every hour who do not have headphones. They are forced to either share headphones used by other students or wait until they get home to do their work. This practice is not as sanitary as we need to set in our classrooms.

New headphones can be checked out to students for the school year so that no one is sharing headphones and potential germs.

I am also requesting a class set of mice. We use Chromebooks daily, and some students are unable to navigate the mousepad effectively. A class set of mice will allow students to use all the tools needed on a Chromebook more effectively. The benefit of the mice I am requesting is that they can be disinfected with wipes.

I am requesting Chlorox wipes and electronics cleaning wipes as well. I have to purchase Chlorox wipes out of my own pocket and it is quite expensive. The donation of Chlorox wipes will help me out personally with my own money but will also keep our desks disinfected and sanitized between classes.

The electronics cleaning wipes are for the Chromebooks. We have to share Chromebooks between hours, and these wipes will help me clean them between the students using them.

All of these items that I am requesting will aid in the prevention of the spread of many of the illnesses we have encountered at school this year, specifically the Omicron variant.
