My Project

My students use their computers in my classroom every day! I was lucky enough to come to a room that had a few things, like chair pockets, and a few extra headphones, but over the years, these things have accumulated a lot of wear and tear.

We use our headphones quite regularly and they are well-loved.

Due to the heavy usage, I no longer have any extra headphones for my students to use while listening to audiobooks, or for state testing. Headphones are an item on my beginning of the school-year list, and many come with super cheap ones that break within the first quarter, but at least a quarter of my students don't bring any at all. Headphones are a wonderful tool to teach fluency when reading e-books while listening to it be read to them, opening up a whole world of reading they never could have accessed before.

We are so lucky to have a school that provides a Google Chromebook, but when my students are not using them, I have them store them in a pouch on the back of their chairs. Many of the pouches I was given when I started were made with very cheap materials and the computers are heavy and have ripped the pouches. I have a few of these Aussie pouches and they have been very reliable, hence why I would like to get some more. The computers fit in them snuggly, and the denim fabric holds up very well.
