Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very creative in their own special way. Each one has a creative way to communicate and to express their emotions, wants, and needs. I teach a group of wonderful moderate-to-severe, non-verbal to low-verbal children with autism at a Title I school in southern California.

Some of my students learn best through a tactile approach, and some through an auditory approach.

Others need both. They love manipulating objects and keeping their hands busy. My students learn through repetition and structure.

My students come from low income families and often are lacking the age-appropriate materials they need to facilitate their communication skills.

My Project

Our classroom computer has helped over ten years of students in my classroom. Unfortunately, the time has come to retire the computer, it will no longer turn on. Our school does not have extra computers to spare.

A new classroom computer, will help my students continue to learn from online programs such as Boom Cards, Unique Learning System, You Tube Videos and Epic online.

Your generous contributions will help my students with autism continue to learn online. And will help the next generation of students learn upcoming programs as well. Thank you.
