My Project

The students in my Horticulture program have learned that plants need water, sun, nutrients and healthy soil. For our weekly Farmers Market, students want to grow healthy vegetables.

By providing fast-working and easy-to-use composters for my students, they will learn how to make their own soil and fertilizer that they can use in our vegetable garden.

Students are learning which items can be composted and how to create a healthy balance between brown and green materials. Students also learn how heat and manure from the animals at school accelerates the composting process.
