My Students

I teach rock band to students in grades 3-6. They are learning to play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and to sing.

These students are fired up about being in a band.

Their little heads bop away as we play Led Zeppelin or Bruno Mars. We use the guitar as the foundation of learning, then those concepts are transferred to other instruments. When someone asks what instrument a student plays, my goal is for them to be able to say that they play everything - guitar, bass, drums, etc. I also want them to write their own songs. By the end of the school year, we should have one incredible performance.

My Project

We are fortunate to have guitars for a whole class, plus a drum kit, a couple of basses and a few electrics. But, we can't hear the singers at all because we have no PA (public address) system. Having a quality sound system and microphones will not only allow the audience to hear the singers, but the band will be able to hear them as well.

This is the last component we need to secure our rock band.

Help these students be able to express themselves through their music. I have parents email me all the time saying how much their children love what they are doing. I am very blessed to be able to bring the world of modern band into their lives, but it's very incomplete until we have the singers heard. Please help us complete our band.
