This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There is nothing my middle school physical education students love more than playing basketball. Yesterday we received funding through DonorsChoose for an outdoor basketball hoop and we couldn't be more thrilled. We need an identical set in order to play serious outdoor games.

My students attend a Kindergarten through 8th Grade public school in a high poverty community in New Jersey.

The students in my classes are all in middle school (5th-8th grades) and they love playing sports. While our administration is very supportive, we unfortunately have no budget for new equipment.

My Project

If we received this basketball hoop and necessary accessories, hundreds of students a week would get to play basketball outdoors before, during, and after school hours. Basketball means so much to these kids and receiving another basketball hoop would mean they could play a real game. They would learn sportsmanship and continue to develop their love of physical activity and exercise.

Donations to this project will enable students to get exercise, something America's youth are in dire need of.

They will play the sport they love with enthusiasm that I hope will last for a lifetime. Thank you so much for considering donating to this gift.
