This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Kindergarteners that I teach are bright and eager four an five year olds who crave to learn about the world around them. My students on the grade are constantly seeking answers to their questions and searching to make connections with those around them. My students are kind and compassionate. The students that I teach are truly remarkable. We are in a high needs area and while my students are eager we don't always have access to the resources that we need and that is where your help would be deeply appreciated. With help from donors choose we will be able to get access to resources that will take our learning to the next level.

My Project

True learning happens when it comes to life. After engaging in a month long study of community workers students, we will have the opportunity to take on the role of a worker in their community. Students will dress up as a different community worker but need authentic costumes and clothing to bring it to life. Students will then take part in a wax museum display. They will be frozen workers. Students will be silent until a museum patron (parent) comes up to them and asks them about their profession in which they will then come to life and talk about who they are and how their job helps the larger community. Students will be able to see the impact of each worker in their community and be able to consider one or more of these jobs when they grow up. Students will be able to learn in ways that are authentic and meaningful if these materials are funded.
