My Project

These materials will help me provide incentives to encourage out-of-school time reading. Our school has a One Book, One School (OBOS) school-wide book club, and we want to encourage students to continue reading our chosen book at home during their leisure time.

Students reading at home are likely to perform better in school, exhibit more substantial cognitive progress, and gain better emotional intelligence.

A sense of empathy opens new windows.

The bookmarks, snacks, pencils, and stress balls will motivate my students and encourage them to continue reading independently outside of school and discuss their books with their families!

Ms. Echols Science Skills Center Grades 9-12

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.

Equity Focus
