My Students

My students are a unique bunch! They are kind, inclusive, inquisitive, and hard workers. Each student in my classroom attends our school in hopes to secure a job after graduation, hopefully doing something they love.

Three days a week, we are in the community, learning how to work and interact with employees and customers.

Each student faces their own challenges but perseveres each day.

Each year, we host a skills competition that showcases the community skills students have learned throughout the year. The items requested will be used enhance the classroom.

My Project

The supplies I am submitting will be used toward classroom improvements and for hands on learning. The rug will be used in an area to vacuum to practice housekeeping skills. The silverware and cloth napkins will be used to practice rolling silverware, which is a skill utilized in our community work experiences. The silverware will also be used for a sorting activity. The hamburger and condiments will be used to teach students to follow visual and written cues when filling orders in a restaurant.

Students will also use these supplies when we set up a "mock" restaurant.

The students are expected to bus and set tables. The requested supplies will afford us the opportunity to create a more realistic restaurant experience.
