My Project

This project is being lead by the junior and senior students at EHS. They are hoping to improve upon our community garden, so that we can have a true community garden, focused on beautifying and feeding the community. We are looking to create a community garden to support local food needs and to have a space where we can come together. Your donation will buy worm bins to help us with vermicomposting, as well as purchasing a watering sprayer for the garden.

The resources in this project will ensure that they have the correct equipment to create a garden based around community involvement.

The worm bins will ensure that we have nutrient rich soil, as well as a focus on sustainability. Creating a community garden can address several important issues, such as food insecurity, community engagement, and environmental sustainability. By growing fresh produce locally, community gardens can help provide nutritious food to those in need, improving food access and health outcomes.

Additionally, these gardens can serve as educational spaces, teaching students about gardening, nutrition, and environmental stewardship. Students can play a crucial role in addressing hunger by volunteering at community gardens, organizing food drives, and advocating for policies that support food security.

Through these efforts, students can make a meaningful impact in their communities and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable food system. EHS is the greenest campus in the state of Minnesota with our solar panel arrays and water collection techniques. A community garden that serves the community is the heart of their project.

The worm bins will help us with our sustainability efforts and the water cans will help keep the plans alive. It's a project in need of funding for the Northeast community in Minneapolis!
