My Project
A sense of community always plays an important role in schools because it keeps students feeling safe and supported. However, after COVID, it has been rough trying to reconnect with the community we serve. Our school and Parent Teacher Organization want to host a few events this year to restore the bond we used to have between the school and the families.
To accomplish this goal, we decided to host different events and workshops in school so our diverse backgrounds of students and their families could feel more included and involved with school activities.
In this project, I am asking for a few materials, such as two different kinds of waffle makers for our students and parents to create their waffles, and students will learn an important life skill, how to cook, during the process. I also request 200 cups to hold their waffles and a batter dispenser. Except for the cups, we will reuse the waffle makers and the batter in various school events. All student's families are invited to join us.
The underlying purpose is to rebuild bonds and teach students values and skills of basic cooking through special community events such as movie nights. We feel this is another great way for our students to learn about different preferences and respect their differences. Any donation is appreciated. Thank you!
