My Project

Thank you for checking out my Donor's Choose project in order to support my Speech & Language students in high school.

High school can be a scary place and managing our stress and anxiety is often difficult for people of all ages.

My students are speech and language delayed students who struggle with communication skills that are essential to success in high school which also brings on unwanted stress and anxiety. Our speech room is a place where we focus on inclusion and providing our students with a safe space where they can work on their skills to become independent communicators while utilizing everyday life skills to be successful.

The materials I am requesting are items that will be used everyday in order to support them in reaching their goals. The books and games will be used to provide fun and interactive learning experiences where the students can work on communicating their feelings and working with their teachers and peers.

At times students will come into my room very stressed out, nervous or upset and that's where the fidget toys will come in to provide them with some sensory integration in order to help calm their nerves and support easing their big feelings.

I hope that you can help to bring some additional materials into our room that will be very important keys to success in managing students mental health and communication skills.
