Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I provide education to a group of an amazing children. These children come to school every day with a smile on their face and ready to learn. However the daily struggle that they deal with is not being able to communicate. Imagine not being able to ask for something to drink when your thirsty or not being able to communicate that you want to read a book. This leads to daily frustration that not only hinders their learning capability but their ability to engage with others. By implementing communication boards and visual aids student's can be successful in learning.

My Project

Laminating the communication cards and using the velcro will help use to create an individualized communication book for each child. The individualized communication books will be used to help students transition between activities, interact with peers and communicate wants and needs.

Students will be able to make request for food items, book choices, math choices, sensory choices, movement choices and other various wants and needs.

By being able to communicate wants and needs this will help ease the students frustration. This will help students become more successful in their learning environment. Which will transition into students meeting their individualized goals.
