My Project

My students have struggled with attention, consistency, social/ emotional and nonverbal communication with Covid. They are stressed out and not able to effectively express themselves, even with their loved ones. These materials will make communication easier and increase independence! These materials will help the kids I work with interpret and understand other people's emotions as well as express their own, learn some basic communication skills, and ease their struggles with transitions between tasks or activities, both at home and in the community. One of the things that would help my students the most is helping them with phonics so that they can become more fluent readers. It is really hard to sound out words correctly when you have trouble pronouncing the sounds. Due to this difficulty I do a lot of reading practice during the speech session, so the Lakeshore Phonics Skill Building Book Sets would be a huge help! I thank you for your consideration and time!
