Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Speech therapist. I service students grades Pre-K to 2 with a wide variety of deficits and disorders. My caseload is forever changing but currently I service two Elementary schools within my district and have a total 75 students assigned to my direct caseload. In addition to my direct caseload, I provide whole classroom lessons to all Pre-K classrooms and all sub-separate classrooms including students with a diagnosis of Autism. Come spring I would like to introduce life cycles! A great way to ensure participation and engagement throughout this unit is to "grow" butterflies. This unit can be altered to appeal to all levels of learners, it's rich in language opportunities and would be a really fun and hands-on way for my students to learn about the life cycle of butterflies!

In addition, servicing students Pre-K to 2 with a wide variety of language disorders and deficits requires a wide variety of materials and supplies for targeting goals and objectives that meet their needs.

New materials ensures carry over across activities, leading to carry over across environments creating successful communicators!
