My Students

I am so fortunate to work with such amazing students. My students have been identified as having speech and language needs that impact their ability to participate in their classrooms. These students are unique in their own special ways, and it is my job to guide them towards their individualized goals.

As a member of the special education team, I work tirelessly to help my students improve their speech and language skills.

My students are likely to be identified as students with autism, learning disabilities, or intellectual disabilities. The more students I work with, the more flexible and creative I become in my teaching style. My students keep me on my toes and motivate me to learn more about my field!

My Project

My special needs students need alternative forms of communication to express themselves. Many of my students do not communicate verbally. They rely on alternative and augmentative communication, such as picture exchange, buttons, and devices, to express their wants and needs.

Every child needs a way to communicate.

It is my job to help them communicate in a way that works for them. This professional development training seminar will help me find new and effective ways to support my students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and learning disabilities. I will utilize the materials and information provided in the seminar to implement functional communication strategies in the classroom setting.
