My Project

I am excited to work with such a diverse and ambitious group of students, many of whom have expressed interest in STEM careers. Most of my students come from low-income backgrounds and are attending an inner-city high school, but they have big dreams. As someone who grew up in the public school system and has returned to teach in it, I know firsthand the importance of a classroom that offers both hands-on experiences and lectures. This approach is especially beneficial as students prepare for higher education.

Despite these challenges, I strongly believe that behind every successful doctor, lawyer, congressperson, or even the next president, there was an excellent teacher.

My students have big dreams and a strong interest in STEM fields. By creating a welcoming and resource-rich classroom, you can help me inspire and support their ambitions, providing them with a solid foundation for future success.

For example, educational posters and wall decals can transform our classroom into a visually stimulating environment that sparks curiosity and interest in scientific topics. String lights and inspirational quotes can make the space more inviting and motivating. Organized storage bins will help keep materials easily accessible for hands-on experiments, fostering a sense of order and readiness. Prepared notebooks with dividers, sheet protectors, and labeled sections will help students stay organized and focused during lessons. Having colored pencils, markers, and highlighters will allow students to engage in interactive note-taking and create colorful diagrams that aid in understanding complex concepts. These materials are not just decorative but are essential tools that will enhance the learning experience, making lessons more interactive and enjoyable.
