My Project

The specific items I'm requesting, including phone charging stations, fidget toys, chart paper, and poster markers, are all carefully chosen to enhance the learning environment in my classroom. Phone charging stations provide students with the option to be cell phone-free during class, which significantly reduces distractions. In my experience, when students have the opportunity to charge their phones, they are more willing to give them up, leading to a more focused and engaged classroom. This allows students to be fully present in the learning space.

Fidget toys are another tool I’ve found effective in maintaining student engagement.

Many students use their phones simply to have something to do with their hands. By providing fidget toys, I offer an alternative that keeps their hands busy without distracting them from the learning process.

The inclusion of chart paper and poster markers is essential for the collaborative nature of my classroom. I often facilitate group work where students capture their learning on posters or charts. These can then be displayed as anchor charts, serving as valuable reminders of the concepts we've explored together. This visual reinforcement helps students retain and recall their learning experiences more effectively.

My goals for this project are to create a classroom environment where students can be fully engaged and present, both mentally and physically. By minimizing distractions and offering tools that support different aspects of learning, I aim to build a strong, cohesive learning community.

What makes my students special is their willingness to engage deeply with the material when they are given the right tools and environment. They are diverse, curious, and capable of tremendous growth when supported in ways that meet their individual needs. This project is designed to honor and nurture that potential, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
