My Project

My main goal is to get my temporary classroom back together and for my students to have some normalcy and structure. These toys and games would help them to want to come to the new school, play, and learn.

I would like toys and games that I can use for continuing their learning throughout the rest of the school year.

These materials are to help work on their individual goals including peer relationships, early literacy skills, creative thinking, and general preparation for Kindergarten. My students learn through play, visual props, and hands-on materials. The outdoor toys will help with gross motor skills, communication skills, and social skills while they are playing. The Legos and building magnets items will help with their imagination, fine motor skills, social skills, sharing, communication, and science activities.

This project will help me and my students start over in this new building that we are using temporarily until ours is restored. I have taught for 28 years and have been in the facility that was destroyed by Hurricane Helene for 24 years. I lost 24 years' worth of teaching materials that I have acquired throughout my career. My students and I were completely displaced by the flooding, and we are starting over from the ground up. We are coming back strong, and with these new materials, we are going to be a very successful classroom at the end of the school year!
