Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each day I step into the classroom, I am always thinking of new ways to teach my students literacy that will get my students excited about learning. Over the years, I have been increasing my capacity as a special educator by attending workshops and trainings, that ultimately enhance instruction for my students.

My 6th grade students may have learning disabilities, but they have been committed to engaging in a program of study for shaping their learning for the twenty-first century.

Our school provides an inquiry-based curriculum that promotes understanding across disciplines and encourages students to investigate as scientists, explorers, artists, and researchers.

What I look for to inspire my students will ultimately help them become self-reliant learners, who are prepared through technology and academic rigor.

My Project

I am constantly seeking online professional development opportunities to bring new, exciting teaching and learning opportunities for my students.

With the acquired resources, I will make a difference because I am constantly striving to use technology to help enhance my instruction.

I will be able to engage in professional development sessions online with the iPad, using the app Comic Life to implement literacy skills and strategies on how to teach my students to become their own authors and graphic designers.

Overall, these items are needed to continue and increase my development as a professional and have a greater impact when working with my students. I will acquire more skills and strategies in the area of differentiated instruction for students with disabilities, and I can then turnkey my increased knowledge to help teachers meet the literacy needs of special education and general education students in classrooms- a win for all!
