Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am excited to be in a 2-3 multi-age classroom. My students come from diverse backgrounds and each one brings a unique strength to share and make our classroom a true learning hub.

The goal for this year is to know what compassion is, practice compassion, and spread compassion to all that we interact with.

We will be reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacios and will close read to understand the underlying message of compassion and kindness that the book is drenched with.

I am very excited this year for my students as they learn to use technology to do research on various topics such as Animal Habitat and Adaptations. They will learn about primary sources and secondary sources and how to cite mentor work. Furthermore, this year we are launching our new science curriculum - Project Lead The Way, which is a comprehensive curriculum that will prepare my students as they move up the grades.

This year is full of new learning and new beginnings!

My Project

This past year my students had no choice but to be fixed in front of the screen sitting on a chair that gave them no flexibility or good posture!

The flexible seating gives voice and choice to my students to choose their sitting so they can learn in the most conducive space!

The flexible seating and the books bags will allow my students to not only choose optimum learning space for themselves but also teach them some great organizational strategies to store their learning tools.

The learning space I create for my students in the classroom will enhance their learning experience!
