My students need a comfy carpet that distinguishes their spot on the carpet when they come to the library for story time. A Place for Everyone carpet is that special one that will help my youngest ones remember their special place on the rug.

A Place For Everyone in our Library!
I'm the Teacher Librarian at a high-needs K-5 inner city school focused on "international mindedness"
Our current story time carpet has been loved for many years with over 500 students using it each week that it is no longer healthy for our young ones and their baby siblings. The current rug does not have a space for everyone when story time happens and this is vital for our Kinders and 1st graders to be able to know their special place. Their kinder classrooms have this rug and they do great on it- I'd like to be as successful.
We need one new carpet called "A Place for Everyone" where 30 children can sit. I do read alouds for K-5 students and our class sizes are getting larger. Our kinder classes now have 22 and the smaller carpet only has 20 spots. This carpet will give each person their own special place and we won't waste time remembering where we sit for story time.
We are so lucky to have the library that we do have and we want it to be the very best. Our children deserve a clean carpet to sit on, not stained and worn out. We have so many families, siblings and a local teen pregnancy program using our carpet, the current one is embarrassing. I don't want to see the babies on it anymore, let alone our 5 year olds. You will make a special reading space extra special for our students.
