Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every morning, students walk into our downtown Brooklyn school ready to learn. We're a school that's growing in diversity while welcoming more students of different ethnicities, academic backgrounds, and levels.

Our classes are full of discussions, math, science, technology, and more!

This past school year (and a half) has been an incredibly wild one and we're looking towards a more normal 2021-2022 school year ahead.

My Project

School this year is different! Many of our incoming 6th graders haven't been in a normal school year since 2020. That's a long time ago.

Having flexible seating options during independent reading will help make our ELA classroom that cozy, warm, and comfortable place they want it be.

Our 6th graders used those exact words when they described what they'd like our ELA classroom to look, sound, and feel like!

Different cushions of different heights, fabric, and sizes, will help accommodate all of our learners who want to read somewhere differently than in their regular seats. It'll make their reading experience more comfortable and hopefully, more enjoyable!
