My Students

I teach the English portion of our school's Spanish Immersion program. This means I have a total of 50 wonderful 5 to 6 year old learners, with two classes of 25 students. I absolutely love teaching language arts and sharing my passion for reading and writing with them. I am so excited when my students learn to read and love to read and write!

My kindergarten students attend a high poverty Pre-K to 5th grade elementary school.

I have a very diverse population of students in my classroom. Many of my students come from high poverty homes and are not given opportunities to engage in appropriate social behaviors with same age peers.

My Project

Help me provide my students with individual carpet squares to help with social distancing in the classroom. Our school has chosen the Hybrid model, therefore I see half of my class on Mondays and Tuesdays and the other half on Thursdays and Fridays. Each student needs to have their own materials and carpets have been removed from the classroom to provide further separation.

Kindergarten is all about socialization and hands on experiences to aid in early learning.

With the addition of these carpet squares my students will be able to move around the classroom, work in small groups, and join in on circle time without contributing to the spread of germs.
