My Students

A typical day in my classroom is filled with laughter and lots of energy! This marks my 10th year teaching and I am still as passionate as ever to change the lives of the students that are with me each day! I love reading and I feel so blessed that I am able to share this passion with my students!

My class is composed of a mix of 2nd graders and 3rd graders.

These students are currently participating in a Special Education Classroom Environment. They are living with various disabilities each day and absorbing new concepts is sometimes very challenging to them. My school is located in a low income area of Brooklyn, New York. The school environment in which my students come to each day is sometimes a complete change from what they are used to experiencing in their neighborhood and even their own homes. I try my best to make their school environment inviting and welcoming - somewhere they want to be each and every day!

My Project

If we are lucky enough to receive these new materials in our classroom, my students would just feel so loved and special. The new rug will serve as a meeting place for students to read with one another and be comfortable at the same time. The "comfy" pillows will act as a special addition to our new reading area. Our new reading area will allow my students to relax and be comfortable - two things that will make learning new concepts that much easier.

These donations will improve my classroom tremendously!

Our reading area will be warm and inviting. My students will really feel important! They will feel that they are worth the time and investment of these new additions to our room!
