Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"I love coming to school!" exclaim my students.

These sweet and energetic five-year-old children enjoy being at school.

Each day is filled with fun, laughter, and hard work! They love engaging, hands-on activities that help to challenge their learning. My students live in the Central Valley of California where agriculture thrives and is the main source of employment for their families.

Students come to school from all walks of life, yet they share the same motivation of learning! My students come to school ready and eager to learn, explore and live each day at school fully. In spite of where they are from, my students show their passion for learning through their curiosity, mindfulness and discovery of themselves personally and academically.

My Project

The flexible seating will give my students a sense of independence and comfort in the classroom. I strive to make our classroom fun, engaging, enjoyable and, overall, comfy and cozy. Currently, my students can choose where to sit during independent work time by using clipboards and sitting on the carpet.

The listening center couch will enhance student learning not only by providing a sense of comfort in the classroom but also by fostering listening skills as students may use it to sit and listen to a book on audio while building their love for reading, too.

Flexible seating will give my students an opportunity to take control of their own learning by having a choice of seating. Giving students control of their seating can enhance their learning and help the students make good choices and complete their independent work.

By donating to our project, you will create a sense of independence, provide comfort, and increase attention and learning.

The materials I'm requesting will provide additional seating in the classroom. With an energetic group of kindergarten students, flexible seating options will help students focus and take ownership of their learning. The comfy floor seating will provide comfort in the classroom while they are away from home, and the Wobble Chairs will help my students with focusing on their learning during independent work time and provide some movement to release their wiggles. The light weight of the seating is easy enough for little five-year-old hands to move around to best suit their seating needs anywhere in the classroom.

The flexible seating options would help us grow academically, keeping learning fun and exciting anywhere in the classroom!
