Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am trying to purchase bean bags chairs and a carpet for our reading corner(s).
I am trying to promote literacy and a love of reading for my students by providing a comfortable and safe environment.
What makes my students special is that we are a Title 1 school with reduced lunches and we do not get the funding that other schools get. Our students come from minorities and low income families.
I am requesting the Bean bags so that the students can get incentives to use the reading corners and sit on them when they reach their goals.
I am requesting a carpet to place under the bean bags so that they do not slide on the tiled floor and so that the reading corner can feel more comfortable and cozy.
