Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a struggling, high-needs, urban neighborhood in New York City. Our school community is a warm, nurturing environment and the children enjoy coming to school.

The parents of our students are working hard to make better lives for their families and desire a stellar education for their children.

My little ones are curious, funny, imaginative, loving, creative, honest, and cute. The community is diverse and considerably low income. The children I teach are all eager to learn and are enthusiastic. My classroom is comprised of children who have different abilities.

My Project

Our PreK classroom is a magical place. It is a special room where 4 year old children can come together to learn, play and have fun.

We are trying our best to keep it super clean due to COVID-19, the Delta Variant, Omicron and other contagious illnesses.

We need to keep our room clean for the children as they are touching each other and toys and surfaces throughout the day. I am in need of soap, napkins and baby wipes.

I am also in need of cookies for when children do not bring their own snack. The other children usually have a snack so we always like to have something on hand for those who did not bring a snack. I am also requesting M & M’s for our Valentines Day Party and other celebrations. For example, the children are working on their very own books and when we are finished, I would love to have a Publishing Party and have some treats on hand.
