My Students

My class includes 32 wonderful 3rd grade students who love to read and are eager to learn!

If you ask my students what their favorite part of the day is, all of them will say Daily 5 because they get to read! My school is small and in a close knit but high need community in Baltimore City. Most of our students are eligible for free and reduced lunch.

My Project

The 6 bean bags will be used in my classroom library where students will be holding literature circles or participating in independent reading. Students will conduct literature circles on books that are self-selected by the students. They will then discuss the book with their group members. These chairs will create a relaxed, inviting environment, to be successful readers. These bean bag chairs will also create a comfortable area for independent reading. I want my students to be comfortable while reading and cuddle up with a great book!

By funding this project you will be reaching 32 eager 3rd graders in Baltimore City by creating an inviting learning environment.

With the use of bean bag chairs, students will be able to participate in literature circles and independently read in a comfortable and relaxing classroom library.
