Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating an inviting and warm space for counseling sessions is vital in working with grades K-8. Having spent one year and a half providing group sessions with office chairs and a portable table, I have seen the difference in the students moods, when they see the one inflatable ottoman I have recently included in my office. The hard and sturdy chairs in my counseling office do not provide a difference in space from their classrooms and their metal chairs.

The most important item for their counseling space is the bean bag chairs which will provide comfort while they decompress from their day or share difficult moments.

The materials listed will make a difference by providing a welcoming space. The white noise machine is essential as the Guidance suite has 3 offices with paper-thin walls and conversations are easily overheard. The waterfall machine would also do great in providing a peaceful environment for the students. Furniture such as the 3-tier stand will hold the waterfall machine and white noise machine. Last but not least, the motivational posters in English AND Spanish will also do great in engaging and making the students feel welcome.
