Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of 21 second graders who are very excited to learn! They love to to come to school! And like many other children, they are always willing to share their experiences, new learning, writing stories, Math strategies, and ideas with their classmates

My students are eager to ready to engage, collaborate, and immerse themselves into learning.

Most of my students participate in a free or reduced prize lunch program and are English Learners. My students are predominately hispanic and come from low-income families with at least one parent who has more than one job.

My Project

Flexible seating will give my students opportunities to take charge of their learning while reading or completing their assignments. Students are more engaged in their learning and less disruptive when they have the option to choose where to sit. Also, they will make good choices about where to seat when working independently. The wired headphone classroom set will foster a quiet environment conducive to learning through learning apps. The Rekenrek Abacus Math manipulative counters will help students who are still struggling with counting, solving basic adding and subtraction, word problems due to loss learning during the pandemic. Students will make good choices about where to seat in order to work independently
