Comfortable Seating & Prizes for Behavior

My Project

Comfortable seating is essential for 5th grade students who have lots of energy but still want to learn. In my classroom. We meet in small groups twice a day during reading and math. As a classroom of 28, with the majority of my students being English Learners, small groups are absolutely necessary. I try to reach each of my 28 students during this time for individual academic support. However, my small group table currently does not have enough seating, causing students to bring over their chairs. Not only does this increase transition time, but it also makes coming to the back table a burden, rather than a benefit. These seats will make transitions to small groups quick and easy, as well as motivate students to do their very best during these times as they will be comfortable.

Prizes are very fun in the classroom.

We use Dojo points for good behavior (like doing homework and being kind). Students cash in their Dojo points for prizes. They are very motivated by this system, helping them learn and helping me to keep the classroom running smoothly. It has been quite a lot of money to continue funding our prize box myself, so I would really appreciate your support!
