My Students

I teach Kindergarten in a Title 1 school. I love my students.

My students are both motivated and eager to learn.

Holding a book and reading aloud brings enjoyment to my students. They love to sit in the library area and browse through the books. They share their stories with each other and new information that they have learned. They are very creative and look forward to coming to school every day. In the classroom, my goal is to create excitement through my lessons and activities. I hope that this project will bring more excitement to all of my students.

My Project

I am requesting cushions for my students. Our classroom does not provide a comfortable area for the children to read. If they were able to feel comfortable and were provided with an enjoyable book, the children would be more receptive to focus on all that the book and has to offer.

The more a student reads, their vocabulary will increase, they are exposed to new areas of interest, new factual information will be learned, their mind will expand and a thirst for more knowledge will grow.

It all begins with that first book that connects to that student. But first,​ we must create an environment that will welcome that child to open up that book that will lead him/her on a journey of education.
