This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my project.

I am a school Social Worker who has been working in the school system for 13 years.

I work with high needs children with disabilities I want to use these chairs to provide a beautiful safe space for my students.

A lot of our furniture in our school district is second-hand, old, and falling apart I want to create a safe space for our students but also something beautiful, new, and comfortable for them to feel happy and supported socially and emotionally.

Our students will benefit with the teardrop seats by having a different therapeutic space within my office in order to promote emotional autonomy allowing them to grow inside their classrooms and learning space. It has been proven that when kids have a different space to dump their emotional trauma outside of the home and classroom they thrive academically and socially in the real world.
